Travel agents learned all they needed to know to be Good to Go at Sunquest’s winter product launch, held June 18 at the Marine Drive Golf Club in Vancouver. More than 100 agents attended the barbecue dinner under a sunny summer sky at the last event of an eight-city tour through Western Canada that also stopped in Edmonton, Calgary, Kelowna, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina and Victoria.

California has always welcomed visitors of various lifestyles and backgrounds, and in the wake of the State Supreme Court’s legalization of gay marriage, the Golden State has even more appeal as a top vacation destination for same-sex weddings, commitment ceremonies and honeymoons. “This ruling reflects California's unique appeal as a destination which welcomes visitors of various lifestyles and backgrounds. California continues to welcome LGBT couples to our state whether they are on vacation, or now, coming for weddings or honeymoons,” said Susan Wilcox, vice president of communications and industry relations for the California Travel and Tourism Commission (CTTC). MANITOBA LOOKING AT ENHANCED DRIVERS LICENCES

Manitoba joins border states considering new legislation

Legislators from the Dakotas, Minnesota and Manitoba are looking at so-called “enhanced driver's licences.” The idea is to provide secure border crossings without forcing travellers to have passports. The licences, using an embedded information chip, would be voluntary. Officials say they would also be more expensive than regular driver's licences, but cheaper than passports.
