Service has been cancelled due to lack of demand; connections to Vegas still available from YYC, YVR

| Paris Las Vegas | | The recently announced WestJet service from Abbotsford, British Columbia, to Las Vegas has been cancelled before any planes have taken off, due to a lack of response from local flyers. Those wanting to fly to Las Vegas can still travel there via Vancouver or Calgary. WestJet will increase its service from Calgary to Las Vegas from one to two flights a day, beginning on September 8, 2008. Richard Bartrem, Vice-President of Culture and Communications of the airline, told the Abbotsford Times: "Abbotsford has been great for us, the flights from Abbotsford to Calgary and from Abbotsford to Toronto are popular, but the bookings for Las Vegas haven't materialized at all.”

| Lora Abernathy joins American Safari Cruises | | Travel industry veteran Lora Abernathy to promote Hawaii, Mexico product for ASC American Safari Cruises has retained 20-year travel veteran Lora Abernathy, CTC, to help travel agents learn to creatively market and sell the company's new Hawaii product, eight-day, seven-night inter-island mega-yacht cruises between the Big Island and Maui beginning Dec. 19. In addition, she will help promote ASC's other active warm waters destination, Mexico's Sea of Cortés. Abernathy will also research Hawaii wholesalers, potential national account partners and niche markets. She most recently was manager of training and development for Majestic American Line and Windstar Cruises, and formerly worked or consulted for American West Steamboat Co., Prudential Intercultural Services, Executive Diversity Services, Runaway Tours, American Hawaii Cruises and Royal Viking Line.

A seasoned hotelier with wealth of experience in luxury hotel properties, Chapelsky brings a wide depth and breath of knowledge to her new role. Chapelsky started her hospitality career in Vancouver at the Pan Pacific Hotel where for 17 years, she worked her way though the company eventually becoming the hotel’s director of operations.

What's new with Seattle hotels - renovations, new product coming soon

| Seattle | | This summer, Seattle offers a handful of hotel renovations, openings and announcements of what’s to come soon. Here are the highlights. The Tulalip Resort Casino, located 40 minutes north of Seattle, will celebrate the grand opening of its 370-room luxury hotel and spa on August 15, 2008. This will now provide visitors to the casino with a premium location for overnight accommodations. Homewood Suites by Hilton Convention Center/Pike Street is now open, following its $9M renovation. In addition, the Paradise Inn at Mt. Rainier has completed extensive historic rehabilitation work Paradise Inn at Mt. Rainier reopened for business in May 2008.
