WESTJET TOPS CORPORATE CULTURES LIST
WestJet Airlines ranked first on the list of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures of 2007 released today by Waterstone Human Capital. The airline has been ranked first since the inception of the annual list three years ago. Another travel-related company -- Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts -- took the number-two spot,  followed by Boston Pizza, Royal Bank of Canada, Yellow Pages Group, Maple Leaf Foods, Manulife Financial, Purolator Courier, The TDL Group/Tim Horton’s and TD Bank Financial Group.
BC FERRIES O.K.’S RESERVATION CHANGES – FOR $9

BC Ferries has changed its reservation policy to allow customers to change their booking up to one hour before sailing time – for a fee. BC Ferries President David Hahn says until now, customers lost their entire booking fee of between $15 and $17 if they didn't make it to their boat on time. Under the new scheme, people can change their reservation by phone or on line for a $9 fee. BC Ferries takes reservations on the three main runs linking Metro Vancouver, Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast.

The big winner in Tourism Malaysia’s national “Sell Malaysia & Win” promotion is Nora Bennett of Uniglobe Geo Travel in Kamloops, B.C. Bennett was selected through a random draw conducted at Tourism Malaysia’s office in Vancouver on January 2. WAKE FROM PASSING PLANE PROBED AS POSSIBLE CAUSE OF AC 190 DROP

The wake from a passing plane is a likely cause of the sudden descent of an Air Canada Airbus en route to Toronto from Victoria last week, the Calgary Sun reported Wednesday. Transport Canada investigators are looking at that possibility as they probe the incident last Thursday near the Kootenay mountains in southeastern B.C. – at the edge of American airspace. The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board is being asked to supply navigational recordings from the area where the incident occurred, said Real Levasseur, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada's Chief of Investigations.
