RECORD PAX VOLUME FOR YYC IN 2007
Passenger volumes at Calgary International Airport reached an all-time high surpassing 12.2 million annual passengers in 2007. Statistics reported by the airlines reflect growth in all sectors for a total of 12,230,000 passengers, equating to an increase of 8.4%, or almost one million more passengers than 2006. “Exceeding 12 million annual passengers reflects yet another year of continued growth – an increase exceeding four million passengers since 2000,” said Garth Atkinson, president and CEO of The Calgary Airport Authority. “Calgary is recognized by airlines as a great opportunity for new air services or increased capacity on existing routes and this adds to the urgency of continued infrastructure investment to keep pace with our region’s air travel needs.”
