WESTJET LOSES HANNON

WestJet announced today the immediate resignation of board member Murph Hannon. Hannon, one of WestJet's original shareholders, cited personal and health reasons for his departure. WestJet Chairman of the Board, Clive Beddoe, commented, "This is indeed a disappointment both for me and WestJet. Murph has been a board member and part of our WestJet team since our start in 1996. His contributions to the board have benefited WestJet greatly and we are a better airline thanks to his guidance and wisdom." Hannon said, "I wish to extend my sincere gratitude and appreciation to serve as a director over the years to Clive, Sean, the WestJet management team, the WestJet shareholders and all the incredible employees of WestJet. I resign my duties with the comfort that WestJet is in good hands." |

The event highlighted agent appreciation support in selling Mexican destinations, showcased tour operator’s Mexico packages and ensured everyone that the country is now safe to travel to after the H1N1 outbreak. Participants at the tradeshow included Air Canada Vacations, Signature Vacations, Sunquest, Sunwing Vacations, Transat/Nolitours, Total Vacations, WestJet Vacations, Adventures Abroad, Mexicana Airlines, El Cid resorts and Melia Hotels. Korea Tourism Organization announces their Western winner of a trip for two to Korea
Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) has announced the Western winner of their Grand Prize for their spring promotion: Ken Roath from Vancouver. The initiative was undertaken with partner airlines Air Canada and Korean Air, and operator, Tour East Holidays from May 1 to June 7. The grand prize was one of two trips for two to Korea. In Vancouver, with partners Korean Air and Tour East Holidays, the campaign ran on News1130 between the dates of May 1 and May 31. It received 45,035 online entries. Manitoba offers Beluga whale snorkeling tours from July to August
The sub-Arctic frontier seaport of Churchill, Manitoba, famed for polar bear watching in the fall, attracts summertime visitors seeking close encounters with beluga whales. Each summer, approximately 3,000 belugas migrate from the Arctic to the relatively warmer waters of the southwest Hudson Bay and its river estuaries where they feed and birth calves. And from early July to mid-August, wildlife enthusiasts float with pods of belugas during two-to-three-hour guided snorkelling adventures on the Churchill River or Seal River and Hudson Bay.
